I was sitting on stone steps by a river after a long walk in the woods and through a peony garden. I was resting, not quite ready to go home yet, and next to me sat a book I’d found in a library box. I see little house libraries often here.
They remind me of a bird house for humans, like a treasure chest. Open the little door of a house-shaped box and find a story to feed your soul, to fly away in imagination, or words placed just for you (or me) in perfect timing. The book I’d found that day is called “Afraid of All the Things” by Scarlet Hiltibidal. A good read for the timing of my current life.
A little girl hopped down the steps from behind and paused, gazing thoughtfully at the book on the step next to me. I wish I could have read her mind. I was reminded of myself, as a little girl. Then she returned to making her way down to the water. she was quiet in her spirit and seemed to be musing about some things until her dad called her back up and onward down the path. I liked her outfit.
