The Thoughtful Flowers
Are keepers of dreams.
Blooms of colors stretch
Toward sunlight,
As a glass confines
Their seat at the table.
…
The lilies have opened!
Rusty pollen tips
Wings of angels
In the cloister.
The breath of babies smiling
In sweet jubilee.
Yellow mums sidestep
And know their place.
…
Dreamers all!
Each one fanciful
And musing,
To live as a bee bed
or a butterfly-tipped saucer.
Treetop thoughts
and dirty toes,
Oh, to be rippled in the wind!
…
Reaching!
Reaching toward freedom,
As a window boxes
Their display.
And partners
With a dancing aroma,
A dream awoken
From seeds buried in the dark.
