The sun was lazy
crossing sky this day
and took the time to gaze upon my petals
fresh from my nighttime rest
I twinkled upright among my peers
and gathered accolades from passing
viewers.
Then the day was long
and my lazy friend would not relent
and withering, I, despairing life,
fell from my towering height.
Here I find another friend
more solid than the other
keeps me from the solitude
of fraying slowly on the ground.
My steady rest…
hold me here
in steady transformation
passing time.
’till some blowy day
the seed of me becomes again.
I’ll stand upright to face the lazy sun.
