The wind said no.

You cannot have the sky and earth.

And threw me out amongst the trees

Roots tripping ’neath my feet.

So I lay myself down.

Damp rot, the winter leaves.

My cheek against the aftermath.

And I smell the echo of memory.

Dissolved here – footfalls roar!

My ear pressed. Dust. Dust.

Visions beat and fade-

Only to pour themselves out again.

I relent. Rise earth particles. Rise!

Envelop my senses, please!

A soft drowning prayer release…

Let earth reclaim its prize.
